Co-founder Mark Overbay first tried making his own peanut butter in 1999 while living in a rural farming community in Zimbabwe. Mark made his own batches with the additions of sea salt, honey, and coconut oil. The deliciously fragrant, mouthwatering result was a revelation that the best foods are often the simplest, made with fresh ingredients, care, and craft. Fast forward to 2010 when Mark began roasting and milling nuts in his home kitchen. Turning his passion into a business, Mark and his wife, Megan, started Big Spoon Roasters in 2011.
