The Floor Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the store with the help of the Assistant General Manager and General Manager. They are responsible for providing excellent customer service, assisting department managers, and overseeing hourly employees, as well as ensuring staff is providing excellent customer service while following set safety and health rules. It is the Floor Manager’s responsibility to make sure the store is clean, well organized and properly merchandised and operational at all times. Floor Managers are responsible for opening and closing the store as well as completing all required daily reports as designated by Senior Management.

Key Responsibilities

  • Have knowledge about all aspects of the store, including, but not limited to, all products and services available from each department, and speaking clearly to customers about said knowledge
  • Supervise the Floor: Making sure all shelves are stocked, service counters are full and well displayed, signs are in place and if not they are created, staff are working efficiently, while paying attention to shrinkage and waste
  • Fill in as needed in various departments to ensure each counter is open and ready for business
  • Supervise registers and cash handling when cash lead is not available
  • Troubleshoot unforeseen circumstances with support from General Manager & Assistant General Manager
  • Provide customer feedback to management
  • Lead in-store product tastings for staff education, and in-store samples for customers and staff
  • Create displays, make gift baskets, and oversee any special orders as needed
  • Work seamlessly with online team to facilitate online order fulfillment and deliveries
  • Any other responsibilities as assigned by the General Manager or Assistant General Manager
  • Ensure compliance with all policies and procedures as defined by both the handbook and by local, state, and government agencies
  • Maintain food safety and sanitation standards as defined by both the handbook and by the DOA
  • Demonstrate outstanding customer service to every customer and contribute to a positive work environment

Requirements

  • Previous experience in a comparable specialty food environment preferred
  • Detail oriented with excellent organizational & communication skills
  • Ability to stand for extended periods of time, walk up/down stairs, use hand truck, and lift up to 50 lbs unassisted
  • Aptitude in decision-making and problem-solving
  • Computer proficient in Google suite of office applications and POS data entry
  • Proof of Covid-19 vaccination
