Citrus Cocktails For The Zest Of The Season

The weather outside may be frightful (that rain!), but winter isn't without its bounty! Citrus season is upon us, and we've got some rare gems mixed in with all your favorites. Like Melogold grapefruit, a hybrid of white grapefruit and pomelo, which is milder and sweeter with lower acidity. You might recognize bergamot, a hybrid of bitter orange and lemon with a distinctively aromatic zest, the oil of which is used to flavor earl grey tea. For a truly rare experience, though, you'll want to try finger limes. Native to Australia, these tiny dark limes are filled with juicy bright pearls of fruit which squeeze out of the tube-like rind, earning them the nickname "caviar limes".

It's easy to enjoy citrus by eating it straight out of the peel, but why stop there? Wine & Spirits general manager Michele Thomas has whipped up three cocktails perfect for showcasing the zest of the season.
