New Menu: Nothing Beats Spring Eats
Ramps have made a few blink-and-you-miss-it appearances on our produce shelves, as have other seasonals like rhubarb. Flower-infused chocolates are a delectable treat when it comes to spring flavors, of course, and we have enough of those for a veritable bouquet of chocolate bars. Our Spring Gift Baskets have been a hit, as well! But for the most part, spring has not exactly sprung yet in Provisions, leaving us with just a handful of options when it comes to spring-inspired dinners. Luckily, Head Chef Andrew Werblin has cooked up a new spring menu, with all the sunny flavors you’re craving!
It’s not a total change, because Chef Andrew knows Fort Greene has their favorites. (Don’t worry, those Brussels sprouts you love aren’t going anywhere.) We just happen to think these new menu items might be your new favorites! Try Smoked Freekeh Salad, with fennel, grilled corn, Pecorino Sardo, pops of grapefruit, and an oregano finish. Grilled Summer Squash with mole rojo is a refreshing bite with pickled golden raisins, pepitas, and cilantro. For something a little simpler, Roasted Caulilini is ready to be an easy side dish with fennel, coriander, and a caper gremolata. Spring Green Beans bring a little more punch with sun dried tomato pesto—house made, like all our dressings and sauces—and crispy shallots for an excellent crunch.
Just like a lot of us stepping out in spring weather (especially as more and more of us become fully vaccinated), you might have noticed our Greene Bowls and House Made Sushi have a new look! And because we like that new look so much, we’re planning on adding back Mixed Salads (nature is healing, as they say), as well as new Flatbreads—think mini pizzas—to look forward to!
And last but not least, we know some folks prefer to cook when they can, so we’ve made adding bright spring flavors super easy for the kitchen brigadiers out there. Our new Compound Butters infuse award-winning butter with fresh ingredients, like Lemon & Herb, or highly seasonal Ramps. That second butter is likely to fly, so get it while you can!
